Alcohol and other Drug Education Workshop

Summary:

This workshop encourages students to identify ways to make more responsible choices to avoid negative consequences of alcohol. The workshop reviews campus policy and city laws regarding alcohol usage as well as its effects on the mind and body. The goal of this workshop is to provide motivation to change drinking behaviors to include safer drinking or non-drinking habits. There is a $75 programming fee for this workshop.

Target Group:

This interactive workshop is specifically designed for 1st time students who are cited for underage drinking, either in the community, on campus or in the residence halls and students who are in violation of the drug and alcohol policy at the University of Alabama.

Capstone Character Ethics and Values Workshop


Transforming the Capstone Creed in to a way of life.


Summary:

This interactive workshop reviews integrity and the components of ethical decision-making. The goals of the workshop is to allow students to reflect on their specific situation that brought them to the workshop, to explore personal ethical decision-making, to help students develop moral attitudes and behavior to care for and respect the rights of others, and to encourage students to assume personal responsibility for their decisions. Judicial Affairs staff collaborates with the campus Career Center staff. The Career Center addresses how the decisions students make today, will affect their future and how having violations on their student or permanent record could decrease their chances of getting a good job. In addition they discuss a career action plan and also give advice as to what qualities future employers look for in an employee. There is a $75 programming fee for this workshop.


Target Group:

The Capstone Character workshop is designed to provide an educational opportunity for students who violate the damage/destruction, theft, failure to comply with a disciplinary decision, and failure to observe policies that may or may not include alcohol charges, are appropriate for this workshop.
